How to install animated stickers in WhatsApp
Download and installation are different
Open a sticker page, preview the animation and choose GIF or WebP. Save the file and check it in Downloads or Files. Sharing a GIF does not add it to the WhatsApp sticker tray.
Importing an animated sticker
To create a pack, use a tool that supports animated files and export to WhatsApp. A .webp extension alone does not guarantee compatibility. Keep the original file and check the tool’s size and animation limits.
A sticker already received in WhatsApp
Open the sticker’s options and look for Add to favourites. The controls depend on your device. This applies to a sticker, not to an ordinary GIF or photo.
Requesting a sticker
If the page offers WhatsApp Direct, its button prepares a request. You must send that message. Opening WhatsApp does not confirm delivery; if no reply arrives, the available file downloads remain an alternative.
Check the animation
If the file is static, compare it with the preview. Avoid screenshots and check another viewer before converting it. Tell us the page address, format, device and step that failed.
